The Weekend Crisis That Almost Cost a GM His Job
The Problem: A boutique hotel with 100% weekend occupancy relied on its corporate-mandated supplier to deliver toilet paper and tissues on Friday. Friday came and went with no delivery. By Saturday morning, the hotel was still out of stock.
The Breaking Point: Guestrooms couldn’t be turned over due to missing paper products. Guests who paid for early check-in and high nightly rates were left waiting, and the GM faced upset customers and potential corporate consequences for a failure outside his control.
Our Solution: We arranged an emergency Saturday delivery within three hours. A driver made a special weekend drop so the hotel could cover the weekend until the regular supplier’s next delivery. Remaining reservations were filled without delay.
